Grey Thoughts
A safe space to reflect on life

The world is continuously evolving, and change is inevitable. We are expected to embrace it, to adapt to it, regardless of our readiness. As for me, I fear it.
I favor comfort. I embrace familiarity and consistency. As someone who lives day to day with anxiety and OCD, along with depression, each day I battle intrusive thoughts. Some days I'm unable to differentiate between what is real and what false scenario my mind is trying to convince me of. It is EXHAUSTING.
The jump from March 2020 to now was violent. I was not ready. No one was. We were forced to adapt to a new and unfamiliar place of uncertainty. We were not equipped with that kind of adaptability. Suicides are up, depression is rising. If we are struggling to adjust, imagine how our children must feel. Most of us stay on our phones, computers, tablets, on all of the social media outlets, neglecting our families, our children, our friends, in order to escape this reality we are in.
I have become avoidant and I prefer isolation over social encounters. I would rather be in the unwavering calmness and stillness of my home, my "safe place", with my family. I don't know if or when life will ever resemble what it used to be, but for the sake of my children and theirs, I hope the world will at least revert back to what seemed "normal" to us then.
All we can do is pray for peace, wisdom and understanding, and for a greater and healthier CHANGE.
Yeah that jump from March 2020 was crazy. Nothing is the same. Seems like it was a completely different lifetime
Have you ever done yoga? It really helps clear your mind of intrusive thoughts and keeps you center. A lot of benefits from it.
You should try it. Meditation is great and does wonders for you
